Privacy Policy

Rylio ("we", "our", or "us") is a reminder and task management application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Rylio app.

By using Rylio, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

We collect two types of information depending on how you use the app:

Information you provide directly

• Email address — only if you choose to sign in with email for cross-device sync
• Reminder titles, notes, dates, and recurrence settings you create within the app
• List names and color preferences you configure
• App theme and settings preferences stored locally

Information collected automatically

• Crash reports and diagnostic data (anonymized, no personal content included)
• App version and iOS version for compatibility purposes
• Device type (e.g., iPhone model) for performance optimization

Information we do NOT collect

• The content of your reminders is never read or analyzed by us
• We do not collect your contacts, calendar, or any other app data
• We do not use advertising identifiers or tracking pixels
• We do not build behavioral profiles or track your usage patterns

The information we collect is used solely to provide and improve the Rylio app. Specifically:

• Email address — used only for account authentication and sync. We never send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
• Reminder data — stored locally on your device and synced to our servers only if you are signed in. Used to deliver your reminders across devices.
• Crash reports — used to identify and fix bugs. This data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to you.
• Device info — used to optimize app performance and ensure compatibility with your iOS version.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the Rylio app.

Rylio is built offline-first. All your reminders and lists are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you sign in with an account, your data is also synced to secure cloud servers to enable cross-device access.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS
• Passwords are never stored — we use passwordless authentication (Sign in with Apple or email magic links)
• Server infrastructure is hosted on reputable cloud providers with SOC 2 compliance
• We perform regular security reviews and updates

If you use Rylio without signing in, your data never leaves your device and no data is transmitted to our servers at all.

We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers — we use trusted third-party services for crash reporting and cloud infrastructure. These providers only process data as necessary to provide their services and are bound by strict data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal processes (e.g., a court order or government request).
• Business transfers — if Rylio is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before this happens.

In all cases, we share only the minimum information necessary.

Rylio uses iOS local notifications to deliver your reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device — they do not require a server connection to fire.

You can control notification permissions at any time through:

• iOS Settings → Notifications → Rylio
• Within the Rylio app under Settings → Notifications

Disabling notifications will prevent reminders from alerting you, but your reminder data will remain intact.

Rylio includes an optional feature to create location-based reminders (e.g., "remind me when I arrive at the grocery store"). This feature requires access to your device's location.

• Location access is entirely optional and only requested when you choose to use location-based reminders
• Location data is used only to trigger your reminders on your device
• Your location is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties
• You can revoke location access at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Rylio

If you do not use location-based reminders, Rylio never accesses your location.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — you can update your account information directly within the app
• Deletion — you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account
• Portability — you can export your reminder data at any time from Settings → Export Data
• Objection — you can opt out of any non-essential data processing by contacting us

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@rylio.app. We will respond within 30 days.

Rylio is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. However, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@rylio.app and we will promptly delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email (if you have an account). The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made.

Continued use of Rylio after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
